In honor of its 35th anniversary, the Hyatt Regency Dallas has completed a $50 million facelift of its 1,120 guest rooms, bathrooms and corridors, it announced yesterday.

The new guest rooms, each of which was redesigned and reconfigured, feature new furnishings — including new lounge chairs for reading and watching television, new chaise lounges and new desk chairs — and new art, including a sculptural metallic wall screen and a “river mirror” created from an abstracted image of Texas’ Trinity River.

New guest bathrooms, meanwhile, feature sliding “barn doors,” backlit mirrors and contemporary, freestanding vanities.

Finally, corridors feature new carpeting, graphics and signage, as well as a new, state-of-the-art swipe entry system.

“This hotel has become an iconic part of the Dallas skyline since the first guest checked in here on April 22, 1978. We want to celebrate that, but at the same time we are always looking forward,” General Manager Fred Euler said in a statement. “And our new ultra-modern guest rooms not only reflect our city, but they also make our guest experience the most high-tech and stylish [accommodations] in North Texas.”
